On a Saturday Morning

in Cleveland’s central projects . . .

a loud whistle breaks the silence.

The distinctive sound of a steam locomotive’s whistle pierces the air, but there are no tracks in this Inner City neighborhood. There is also the sound of music playing the song, “Heaven is a Wonderful Place”. Suddenly apartment doors fly open and groups of children poor into the street. Has the Circus come to town today or is it a carnival, maybe the ice cream man is coming. No the whistle and the music playing all indicate to the kids that it is time for Church. Shouts of “the Blue Bus is coming” and “Yeah Heaventrain is here” can be heard. A big blue bus displaying a mural of Heaven comes around the corner, there is now a line of 180 to 300 kids that are signed in and ready to worship.
You might ask what is this thing, why does it come, and who is behind such an event, and how is it that this ever came to be?
Welcome aboard the Cleveland Heaventrain. A.k.a. the Blue Bus.

Heaventrain is a Brightly painted bus that was designed with kids in mind. It is equipped to reach out to children in 10 of Cleveland’s poorest neighborhoods as a “Church on Wheels”. Because we are mobile we are not bound by the size and location of any building. Our church can go wherever there are hurting people, And there are hurting people everywhere.
